The Forest of Port Callec is 10km and Les Roches du Diable also known as devil’s rock’s, with hiking trails set between the Rivers Scorff and Elle, famous for canoeing. A 20km drive will take you to the seaside resort of Larmor-Plage facing the Island of Groix. Lorient is worth a visit for its nightlife as well as its summer celtic music festival. Plouay, 3km away has all facilities and an extensive park with manor.   1. Set down the end of a no-through road the property is part of an old hamlet that once housed a small farming community. It’s location means that it is very quiet and there are pleasant views over farm land. You can walk directly into the woods and join a marked circuit walk. The owner Alain (who’s family have owned a farm here for generations), is very friendly and helpful. He gave plenty of tips about wine and places to visit and there was a chilled bottle of cidre and a Breton cake waiting for us on arrival. The gites have all been converted to a high standard. The pool is slightly on the cool side but refreshing after a day of exploring. It’s only a 5 minute drive to Plouay the nearest town. Aug 2011.
  2. The accommodation is well maintained and was excellently presented. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and gave us helpful suggestions to get the most from this lovely area. The games room is new this year and was a really welcome facility along with the covered swimming pool. The other accommodation units in this small complex is equally well presented. Sept 2010.
