Property Description

This delightfully placed 18th-century mill is set in the heart of the Loire châteaux country. There is a large terrace over the mill stream for al-fresco dining and a small grassy area with a little shade at the water’s edge. A ground floor apartment next door is let all year; the tenants are extremely discreet. Nearby, historic Meung-sur-Loire dates back to medieval times. Beaugency, with its château and historic centre, is just 15km away and Chambord, with its nature reserve and the largest château in the Loire, is 40km. Blois (50km) offers a château with sound and light show, cathedral, museum of magic and historic bridge over the Loire, whilst Chaumont-sur-Loire boasts a château, sculpture trail and exhibition gardens (65km).

  1. We though that the property was absolutely charming as were the owners. It was exactly what we were looking for. I just wish i was able to paint as it was an artists paradise. However, I wish that we had perhaps been able to rent bikes from the owners so we could explore the immediate countryside it would have been quicker than walking (ambling)! July 2012.

Moulins De Cherelles is a beautiful property set in a magnificent location - unbeatable for serenity whilst also perfect for access to the chateaux, vineyards and the commercial centres of Orleans and Paris by train. The hosts are wonderful and welcoming and very willing to help you plan wherever you wish to go. If you want a peaceful setting in a beautiful location with access to the sights then Moulins De Cherelles is a must! Sept 2010.
